Illinois Chamber of Commerce Delivers Benefit Offerings To Help Small Businesses Compete In Today's Hot Job Market

Newest program features Dental and Vision coverage with two-year rate guarantee

Company Release: August 21, 2018

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Even as the Illinois Department of Employment Security reported a seasonally-adjusted statewide unemployment rate of just 4.3 percent, many employers throughout Illinois find themselves struggling to fill open positions. Small businesses in particular may feel the pinch of trying to compete for a limited number of job applicants.

In order to help small businesses in Illinois attract and retain the best workers, the Illinois Chamber of Commerce has announced a tailored benefit offering for its small-business members. In a newly announced relationship, MetLife and IXSolutions of Chicago will supply dental and vision coverage to Chamber members with 2-99 employees, at preferred group rates.

“At the Illinois Chamber, our vision is ‘A vibrant and prosperous future for Illinois,’ and such a future is not possible without our small businesses,” said Todd Maisch, President and CEO. “We are always looking for ways to help our smaller members grow and thrive.”

Recent research from MetLife and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce shows that one-third of small businesses are planning to hire this year and offering additional benefits at competitive rates is a proven way both to compete for the best talent, and to retain valued employees.

“Dental and vision coverage are among the most sought-after of employee benefits,” added Kleyton Young, regional vice president, MetLife, in Chicago. “These plans have been designed specifically for small businesses, paired with networks of more than 15,350 dentists and 4,350 vision providers across Illinois. Plan designs deliver the benefits employees want and need, while helping employers to keep costs in check.”

Dental advantages available to Illinois Chamber of Commerce members include coverage for routine dental check-ups and cleanings; negotiated fees that save participants money; and no minimum participation requirements. Vision advantages include standard coverages that many carriers only offer as options, and fixed copays for popular options such as progressive lenses, scratch resistant coatings, and contact lens fitting and evaluation. Both dental and vision benefits are offered to Chamber members with a two-year rate guarantee that’s designed to help companies.
